(February 7, 2017- Dumanjug) At about 6:43 PM last Tuesday a fire alarm in barangay Panlaan was received by the Dumanjug Fire Station. Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection of Dumanjug rushed to the scene and found out that the one storey residential house made up of semi concrete materials, owned by Mrs. Shirley Ochondra was gutted down by fire.
Initial investigation revealed that the fire originated at the master's bedroom. According to Reynaldo Donaire (son of the owner) that a lighted mosquito coil "katol" that was placed above the foam and left unattended caused the fire.
There were 5 family members living in the said house, the mother 56 years old, two sons (Reynaldo Donaire - 25 yrs. old & Rhine Donaire - 16 yrs. old) and two granddaughters (Krishia Fe Bracero - 8 yrs. old & Roshelle Aaliyeh Ochondra - 7 yrs. old). The estimated damage reached P 50,000.00 more or less.
Mayor Gungun Gica ordered the release of immediate assistance to the family through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
