(February 25, 2017-Dumanjug) A man was put behind bars by Dumanjug cops after he was caught for indiscriminate firing in Barangay Kang-Actol, Dumanjug, Cebu on Saturday evening.
The arrest was triggered by a phone call from a certain Nova Patiluna who expressed her fear, after suspect intentionally fired his .357 revolver with no apparent reason, Dumanjug PNP led by SPO3 Florencio Q. Clarion immediately responded to the said incident, spotted the suspect and apprehended to restore the public peace of the area, The suspect later identified as Che-Che Albino Catubig alias Retch Calubig, 41 years old and a resident of same place.
Recovered from Catubig's possession and control were one (1) pc of .357 Smith and Wesson magnum revolver with no serial no. with four (4) inserted .38 live ammunitions and one (1) .38 inserted empty shell.
Catubig is now detained in Durnanjug Police Station while a case is being prepared to be filed in court against him for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 otherwise known as “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act` for illegal possession of firearm and ammunitions.
