(February 26, 2017-Dumanjug) New detainee of Dumanjug Police Station Detention Cell, a carpenter, was held captive by police officers due to a hacking incident last Saturday evening in Barangay Kantangkas, Dumanjug, Cebu.
The victim identified as Edgardo Amadora Conde, 51 years old, a resident of same place and identified the suspect as Eddie Bayawa Doniosos, 45 years old, a carpenter and a native of Barangay Kantangkas, Dumanjug, Cebu.
According to the initial investigation by Dumanjug PNP, while Conde was sleeping inside his house, he was awakened by a loud sound and hurriedly went out brought along with him a flashlight and there he saw the suspect climbing in his perimeter fence and jumped outside. Conde then immediately chased the suspect and had a fist fight with him but suddenly hacked by the suspect using a “scythe” locally known as “sanggot” hitting/causing injuries to victim’s upper left breast and left hand.
Dumanjug Police Station under the supervision of PSINSP Gilfred G Baroman composed of SPO3 Florencio Q Clarion, PO2 Mayquin Micheal D Mingay, PO2 Renante A Carbona, PO1 Sivestre C Zulueta Jr.,PO1 Rodel M Monteza and PO1 Marvin Libradilla conducted hot pursuit operation that resulted to the arrest of the suspect in the vicinity of Barangay, Poblacion, Dumanjug, Cebu, yesterday.
Doniosos is now in custody of Dumanjug Police Station while appropriate charges are set to be filed against him.
“To all concerned, the station’s detention cell is so crowded, do not allow yourself to be in.” says Baroman.
